Orion Border Collies

We don't breed very often, we try to schdeule around our various activites so that all the dogs get to do as much as possible!  We have a litter planned for 2010, 2011 and 2012.  We can always put you in contact with a trusted reputable breeder if we have nothing available.

Our puppies are raised in our house with constant attention.  In the warmer weather they do get to spend time outside exploring the yard.  We try to take them  for short trips so they get used to riding in the car.  Puppies come with a health exam by our vet, their first vaccine and are dewormed on a regular schedule.  They are guaranteed to be healthy when they go to their new homes.
Puppies are registered with either ABCA, AKC or both.  All of our puppies are sold on Limited Registration.  We do prefer to sell on Non-Breeding Contracts.  But will take into consideration lifting the Limited status ONLY after ALL health exams are done- CERF, CEA DNA(if not clear by parents),OFA or PennHip.  And the dog meets our standard for breeding. The dog is required  to complete  the CGC or TDI program.  To be considered for breeding they must also exhibit herding instinct, or title in any herding event.  They must also obtain titles in Flyball or Agility.  We have the final say to whether a dog is of breeding quality.

DEPOSITS:  We require a $200 NON refundable deposit to hold a place on a list for a puppy.  We will take deposits once a breeding has been confirmed.  You will be placed on the list by the order in which your deposit was received.  If there is not a puppy available your deposit can be moved to a future litter.

PUPPY PICKING:  We take great care in placing our puppies in the best home possible.  We ultimately have the final say in which puppy will suit your home the best.  We do not have a first come first serve policy..but will go down the list in order once the time has come to start picking.  We make initial evaluations at 4 weeks old but do not start the picking process until puppies are 6 weeks old.

GUARANTEE:  We do our best to ensure all of our puppies have no health problems.  If it is determined by a veterinarian that your puppy has a hereditary eye disorder or hip dysplasia, we will offer a refund for Half the purchase price or a replacement puppy.

We ask that if you are interested in one of our puppies, that you fill out this puppy application.  If you are still interested in adding one of our puppies to you home please contact us.

If you are approved and added to the list for one of our puppies we will ask you to fill and out and return our Contract with your deposit by MAIL.

A portion of all our puppy sales will be donated to the Suni Fund, part of the National Canine Cancer Foundation in memory of Race.  Uncle (and sometimes Grandpa) Race was the best babysitter, and puppy raiser anyone could want!  He is often found sitting vigil outside the whelping box..and most likely IN the whelping box making sure the babies were all ok.   We lost Race to Hemangiosarcoma, a  rarely detected and fast spreading cancer.  The Suni Fund was started honoring an Agility Icon-- Suni, who also was lost to this disease.
